Overview
A tailored package of technical mentoring aimed primarily at teams or people within business departments who are involved in the production of some form of software solution. The software solution may encompass databases (large or small), reporting, spreadsheets or custom applications. The technical mentoring can be delivered on an ad-hoc basis, over specific projects, or on a regular scheduled basis.
Audience
Technical Mentoring is designed especially for staff and teams within business departments, contact centres or organisations who require additional technical advice and guidance in the area of software solutions. The people we can help will typically fall in to two categories. Those with limited technical skills, that have been asked to build a small application or database but require advice and support to ensure what they build is fit for purpose both now and later; and those who have technical skills and have been implementing software solutions for some time, but do not have the formal training or experience to draw on to ensure the software solutions they develop are as good as they can be.

Technical mentoring from Colrosa is about providing your business oriented teams who are involved with the development of software solutions, an opportunity to improve their designs, implementations and skills over a period most suitable to the business or project. We draw on our consultants’ experience of delivering a wide range of software solutions to help deliver sound advice both technically and from a business perspective.
We can work with a team or individuals either on a specific project, or over a longer period of time to help build their skills and improve the quality of their output technically and make them aware of business issues, such as risk reduction.
People responsible for delivering software solutions within a business environment are faced with a multitude of conflicting constraints. These may be cost, time, strategic, technical and sometimes even political. We aim to give independent advice and support to those trying to deliver a quality solution in such environments in order to help them deliver better software solutions in the short term, and develop their own skills to apply to future projects. We can also act as a technical ‘sounding board’, express our opinions on proposed ideas, help with design considerations, and even get involved in the actual software solution implementations if needed (see also Software Solutions).
